August 18, 2025, was a typical late-summer day in Germany. Temperatures were around 77°F, there was a light breeze, and the first autumn colors were already beginning to appear in nature, even though summer was far from over.

That day, Art Garfunkel Jr. was seen behind the scenes in a side of his work that initially remained hidden from the public. He was in Bavaria for professional reasons, where work was already underway on a special project.

At that point, it was already known that 2025 would bring a special project. For the fans, however, it was still not known what was being worked on behind the scenes.

The workday in Bavaria was part of the preparations for this project. While late summer was still present outside, footage was being created whose significance would only become fully clear several months later.

On one hand, there was a warm August day with the first signs of the approaching autumn; on the other, work was underway on a project centered around a different season.

It was only later that what had been created that day became known: On August 18, 2025, the video footage for “Advent,” Art Garfunkel Jr.’s first Christmas album, was filmed.

“Advent” was ultimately released on November 28, 2025. It also became clear where the footage created in Bavaria fit into the project. What had taken place behind the scenes in August became part of the finished album just a few months later.

August 18, 2025, was therefore one of those puzzle pieces in the making of “Advent.” Only in the context of the finished album did the significance of that individual workday within the entire project become clear.
