Art Garfunkel Jr. and Ross Antony on the Ross Antony Show

On October 30, 2021, Art Garfunkel Jr. was a guest on the Ross Antony Show. Five years later, this appearance recalls a special moment shortly after the release of his debut album "Wie du – Hommage an meinen Vater".

The Ross Antony Show held a special position in this: Here, the focus was not only on Art Garfunkel Jr.'s music, but also on singing together with two different musical partners.

Together with Ross Antony, Art Garfunkel Jr. sang "Cecilia". Both hail from English-speaking regions and have lived in Germany for many years. From this shared connection, an international musical encounter came to life in German television entertainment.

Following that, Art Garfunkel Jr. sang "Wieder daheim" together with Frank Schöbel. Art Garfunkel Jr. shared more than just the joint music in the broadcast with Frank Schöbel. Schöbel's music was already familiar to him from his childhood: Frank Schöbel's green Christmas album was among the records that Art Garfunkel Jr. listened to during his stays with his grandmother in America.

Thus, the joint rendition of "Wieder daheim" acquired a deeply personal layer. What began as a musical encounter on the Ross Antony Show simultaneously met with a childhood memory of Art Garfunkel Jr. and with music that had accompanied him long before his own career as an artist.

The two duets set different musical accents. "Cecilia" with Ross Antony brought an internationally flavored touch to the show, while "Wieder daheim" with Frank Schöbel established a personal connection to music that Art Garfunkel Jr. had already known from his childhood.

The appearance took place during an important early phase of his solo career. With "Wie du – Hommage an meinen Vater", Art Garfunkel Jr. had released his first own album and thereby begun a new chapter of his musical path. The Ross Antony Show became a special station of this early period – not least due to the two duets and the various personal references associated with them.

Five years later, the broadcast therefore remains remembered as a special moment of this early phase: Art Garfunkel Jr. with "Cecilia" alongside Ross Antony and subsequently with Frank Schöbel on "Wieder daheim" – two encounters that could hardly be more different and precisely because of that define the special character of this appearance.
